Sociedad confirm Moyes as boss

David Moyes has been confirmed as the new manager of Real Sociedad, signing an 18-month contract.

The former Everton and Manchester United manager arrived in San Sebastian on Wednesday afternoon to meet up with the club’s president, before signing the contract with the Primera Division club.
Moyes will be officially unveiled on Thursday afternoon after nearly seven months out of work. He spent 90 minutes on the training ground with with club's sporting director.
The Scot, 51, will look to rebuild his reputation that was dented by his spell at Old Trafford, which was cut short just 10 disappointing months into a six-year contract.
Sociedad fired their coach Jagoba Arrasate on 2 November and are currently 15th in La Liga, but they achieved their best result of the season last weekend, beating champions Atletico Madrid 2-1.
His first assignment in charge of Sociedad will see him take his new team to Galicia to face Deportivo La Coruna live in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday, November 22 at 9pm.
Sociedad have a long history of appointing British managers. Englishman Harry Lowe was the first - he managed the club between 1930 and 1935. More recently Welshman John Toshack was boss three times in the late 1980s and early 90s, winning the Copa Del Rey.
Current Wales boss Chris Coleman had a short spell there between June 2007 and January 2008.
