Stima coach warns Leopards

Tusker Premier League (TPL) table-toppers AFC Leopards will be making a trip to the Western town of Kakamega this weekend to play Western Stima, on Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium. The 12-time champions have been promised a tough afternoon in Bukhungu by the Westerners’ coach Henry Omino, who says they will be going all out for a home win to avenge the loss they suffered in the first leg at the Mumias Sports Complex. Omino admitted that Leopards are in a tricky situation after failing to win in two of their previous games and will go to Bukhungu with all guns blazing, but his trust in his team is unrelenting and he adds that he has plans of his own. “We are now at an advanced stage of the preparations and I know Leopards will not have it easy here despite us being the underdogs. They have been shaky lately and were lucky in their last game but we don’t focus on them at all; we trust in our abilities,” he said. “They need the points and will come with all guns blazing, but we also have ambitions to finish among the top five teams – we are about nine points short which means we have to win three games at least, and we will start with the Leopards game.” Leopards draws most of its support from the Western region and Omino admitted the crowd’s support could also play a role in the epic clash.
